Why Choose Christ?

Hello friend,
In my experience, one of the most commonly asked questions in the Christian community today is, “Why should I accept Christ?” I like this question because it can receive such a simple answer. Naturally as human beings we can’t help but think that there is some kind of higher power out there. Maybe you are someone who claims to know God but questions who He is, or maybe you have always known God and you don’t doubt his existence at all. Either way, it is always nice to get some further clarification on who He is and why we should follow him. In Romans 1:20 it says “For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.” People will often question where we came from, and why we are here. Some claim that random matter just formed from a big bang in the universe. But all we really have to do is read God’s word to know where we came from. The Bible tells us where we came from. In Genesis it states that God created the heavens and the earth, and that he also created mankind. By reading further through the word of God, we come to the understanding that He is a morally upright, logical, and all powerful being who gave us an instruction manual with rules and guidelines. It would be foolish for us to deny the existence of a being this amazing who only wants the best for us. The Bible also states though that if anyone is caught up in the sins of the world, and does not choose Christ as their savior, then they will spend an eternity in the lake of fire. Now with knowing that, he also told us how to be saved. The Bible says in Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” It is so simple, but in too many cases someone will say the prayer, and there is no proof in their life. They will claim to know Christ, but they will still be caught up in the ways of the world. Thankfully, God has given us The Bible, and the strength (through the Holy Spirit) to overcome the trials and temptations of the world. All we have to do is have faith in Him.

In Christ,
Noah Brewster
