MAKING GOD YOUR FRIEND

Hello Friends,
Are you saved? Are you living like you’re saved? Are you growing in Christ?  Once you become saved you may notice that the people of the world are ignoring you. You must know that when this happens, you have the perfect opportunity to begin establishing a relationship with God.

When people become saved, they should begin growing in Christ, and this will cause them to separate from their worldly friends. But, when you have lots of friends, you won’t feel the need to establish a relationship with God. When you begin growing after you become saved, however, you will naturally separate from the friends that aren’t growing; this in turn will cause you to be withdrawn from the many distractions that can come from having these types of friends. Proverbs 18:24 says – “A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” When you are withdrawn from distractions, you will have more time to read the Bible and to pray. This will help to form a close relationship with God.  James 4:8 warns – “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”

The Bible talks extensively about abstaining from the things of the world. This may be challenging, but if we want to build a close relationship with God, then we need to be willing to drop the sinful habits that we may have. James 4:4 says – “…Know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”

Despite what may happen to you on this planet, as long as you are praying, abstaining from bad influences, and studying the Bible you will always have a friend in God.

In Christ,
Noah Brewster
