Hello Friend,
Most Christians and
believers alike claim they know how to be saved. But, a great number of people neglect
to reference the correct scriptures when explaining how we can obtain this
freedom from death. There are many verses in the Bible that so plainly tell us
how we can be assured that we’re saved (Provided we rightly divide the Bible).
Like my parents taught me;
to rightly divide means to find out the Who, When, Where, What and Why of the
scriptures. Many people claim that the real way to be saved is by sacrificing
animals, by baptizing, or even by just being good. However, when we look at Who
was talking, What was going on at that time, and Who they were talking to, we can
find the real way to be saved.
If you want to know how to be saved, you have to look at the most current scriptures, see who was speaking, and see what they have to say. The scriptures I’m speaking of are that of Paul’s. After Jesus died, he appointed Paul as the apostle to the Gentiles. The Mystery that is spoken of in Colossians 1:26-27 refers to the new opportunity for the Gentiles to be saved along with the Jews. Throughout Paul’s ministry he tells us several times how all can be saved; and that is what I would like to share with you now.
In Romans 10:9 it states – “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the LORD Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, THOU SHALT BE SAVED.” Paul (Inspired and instructed by Jesus) so clearly tells us how to be saved right here!!! Yet people will still be confused on what we are to do. See, most people think that we have to do something physically to deserve God’s mercy, yet what we can now begin to understand is that salvation is something we can obtain by doing something mentally. By believing in Christ, and by making a deliberate decision to make Him the Lord of your life, you can be saved.
See, most everyone thinks that you HAVE to do something good to be saved; but what I always say is that if you are truly saved, you will WANT to do those good things, and not because you have to, but again, because you WANT to. Because you now have a strong desire to truly and genuinely serve our Lord and Savior.
God Bless,
Noah Brewster
