A Dangerous Thing

Hello friend,

Do you struggle with sin? We all do, but many of us don’t just sin, instead we are caught up in a sin. In Proverbs 16:27 it says “… Idle hands are the devil’s workshop.” Yes, it is better boring than bad, but make sure you are keeping yourself busy with spiritual things.

Being that I’m homeschooled, you can imagine that I have gotten pretty bored from time to time. There have been many cases where I would just sit around and do nothing for Christ, and this my friend is a sin. There is a never ending amount of things that we can do for the lord. Here are just a few things we can do, - tithing, reading the Bible, having Bible studies, doing Christian blog posts, shall I go on? We really should be doing these things daily, but it can be difficult to not let the distractions of the world steer our attention away from God.

In Romans 6:23 it says – “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” But as I have said many times, does this mean that we should continue in our sin because we are saved? If we do this, it shows that we really didn’t accept Christ. Mathew 5:8 says – “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” When we are caught up in a sin, this shows that we are not pure in heart. So, when the scriptures say “only the pure shall enter Heaven,” we need to understand that if we want eternal life, we cannot be caught up in the sins of this world. Many Christians will hang out with heathens, claiming that they are doing it to save their soul. Let me ask you this, how does being friends with a heathen save their soul? The Bible doesn’t say to be friends with them; it says to be a witness of Christ to them.

What about you? Your soul is important too. And hanging around heathens will dampen your soul. How can we effectively serve God when we hang around these types of people? The things they do are fun, and they often seem harmless, and this is why it can be one of the most dangerous sins. I have struggled with this, and I know firsthand that it weighs on your soul. Please think and pray about what I have said. We need to protect our soul from the influences of this world. The quality of your soul is directly dependent upon the things that you choose to surround yourself with. Please remember to never take God’s mercy and love for granted.

Does God Really Exist?

Hello Friend,

In our day and age most people do not believe in God. They may believe that there is some greater power out there, but they don’t know what it is. This is quite sad, because God really does exist, and the amount of people who know that is minimal.

So why does this matter? How does knowing about God’s existence improve our life?  I have compared the quality of life of a saved man, to that of an unsaved one, and trust me when I say that the difference is substantial. I have seen many people’s lives improve once they accepted Christ and started growing to be more like him. We are what we surround ourselves with, and if we read the Bible, and we stay in prayer, then we can’t go wrong. Knowing this is very crucial to a Christian’s walk in Christ.

The Bible states in Romans 1:20 “For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.”  People will say that there is no proof of God’s existence, but the proof can be clearly seen just by looking out the window. This beautiful world could not possibly have been created by a “Big Bang” Or whatever the heathens are calling it these days. In 1927 the “Big Bang” theory was introduced, and it wasn’t long after that that God was taken out of the public schools. The public school system used to be a healthier environment, but now it has become one of the main things that have taken this country down.

Without God, there is no structure; there is no purpose in our life. As Christians we need to understand this, and when someone doesn’t believe in God’s existence, it is our job to try to prove to them otherwise. 1 Corinthians 8:6 says “Yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.” As a friend in Christ, I would urge you to aid in the cleansing of this devastated earth by spreading God’s word and by spreading proof of His Existence.

A Chapter A Day Keeps the Devil Away

Hello friend,

First off today I would like to apologize for how long it has taken me to update my blog. Life has kept me very busy with my You-tube show that I just concluded and Bible studies that I have been attending. It has been fun, but I am thankful to be back doing the Lords work.

I have a very legitimate concern for the state of our country. People don’t read their Bible anymore. Christians will go extended amounts of time without reading the Word. This truly disheartens me because I understand why they aren’t. I also know the consequences that can come from an absence from God’s word. It can be difficult to pick it up, and there have been many times where I have gone weeks without reading it. I know for a fact that I am saved, but sometimes it can be difficult to strive for perfection, especially when you don’t find yourself growing. This is often what can cause absenteeism in the spirit. Over the past two months, I have been reading the Bible nearly every day. I have been noticing the success of my life improving, and thank God, I know that the flesh has less hold on me now than what it did when my life was lacking God’s word.

James 4:7 says – “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”  Do you want to resist the devil? Of course you do. Paul told us how to do this in Romans 10:17 – “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” A strong spirit comes from having faith and reading the word. This will grow us, and the stronger our sprit is, the more equipped we will be to face up against the coaxing of our flesh.

The philosophy that this world has is wrong. People will claim that life is gray, lacking the separation of black and white. I totally disagree. Because we live on this planet and have flesh, it may appear to us this way as well, but when we read God’s word, we will be able to distinguish the two more easily. As a Christian brother, I would challenge you to read one chapter or more of the Bible each day and see how the word of God can aid in the improvement of your quality of life.

Loneliness

Hello friends,

Do you ever feel lonely? All of us have at one time or another. I’ve experienced this, and it’s completely normal. When we become saved, we should have a burning desire inside to be more like God, and to be less like the people of the world. This makes enemies. By no means should we try to make people dislike us, but if we are in Christ, it will happen on its own. The Bible states that if we are in Christ, then the people of the world won’t like us. Yes, we shouldn’t like them, but we should love them.

Psalms 104:8 says – “The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.” In other verses the Bible says that we need to be like God. The word Christian means Christ-like. If we want to truly call ourselves Christians, then we need to act like Christ. Being merciful, quick to forgive, and gracious to people are some of the greatest things that we can do on this earth. Remember, we have a gift; the least we can do is share that gift with the world.

Naturally as humans we are co-dependent. We want companionship, and many of us will compromise just to prevent ourselves from being lonely. Recently my sister got married, and although it brought a new family member into our lives, it also caused me to be very lonely after she moved out. Now don’t get me wrong, this is a normal thing, and a good thing. Although this is true, it doesn’t mean we have to like the change that we are faced with, but we must embrace it. Around the same time this happened, I stopped going to events, and I got a job. I know, this isn’t fun, and it’s too serious, but being in Christ isn’t supposed to be fun, and it’s not supposed to be about us. This is all about glorifying God, no matter how lonely we are. Now don’t get me wrong, we shouldn’t try to be lonely just so we can feel like we are serving God, and if you have a lot of friends and family members that are true Christians, that’s great! And also don’t get me wrong about this; I am loved very much by my family, all of them, and we get along well. I am the youngest of my siblings, and it is normal for the youngest to be alone for a little while. I will eventually find a Christian woman, and we will get married, but it will take patience. And to those who are single and feel like they’re alone, just hang on. During this period where you are lonely, it is the perfect time to focus on growing in God and spreading his word.

Compassion and Understanding

Hello friends,

As many of you have probably noticed, my first few posts had more of a serious tone to them. Life should be taken seriously, but we also need to lighten up and take others into consideration. Today I will start out with a verse. Ephesians 4:32 says “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” We must take in regard how important this passage is. Most of us don’t understand how crucial it is that we do these things. It’s not like just anyone said this, God did. When God speaks, WE NEED TO LISTEN!!! God is very compassionate, and he forgave us for our sins before we even commit them. 

One thing that I have been working on for the past few years is forgiveness. Forgiveness is so important. The Bible states that we need to be more like God, and patience and forgiveness are two of his greatest attributes. People do us wrong very frequently, but this life is too short to hold a grudge. But, we should never forget what someone does though, because the minute that we do, is the moment that we fall prey to it again. Forgive, but don’t forget. I have recently had some bad experiences with multiple people, and I’ll be the first to admit that it is hard to let it go, but we just can’t afford to hold grudges. We must instead move on and grow from it. 

As we grow in Christ, we should naturally have a greater desire to help others, and to help lead them to the grace of God. That is why when you see someone struggling with something whether it be physical, emotional, or even spiritual, we should jump at the opportunity of helping them. I have met a lot of Christians who are very self-centered, and never want to help anyone else. But just like with everyone else, we should try to help them, and most importantly, we need to pray for them. I pray that we can all be more giving and patient with one another.

Modesty

Hello friend,
Do you want to please God? Do you want to stand out from the world? Do you want someone to see you and be able to tell that you are a Christian? The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 6:14 “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness? To me, there is one obvious thing that makes a Christian stand out from the heathen, and that is modesty. In this fallen world that we live in today, people have completely abandoned the concern for being modest. Unfortunately, many of these people are so called Christians, and this truly saddens me. As Christians, we are to stand out from the world, and this shows that these people clearly do not know the scriptures. Are they reading their Bible? Are you reading your Bible?? 

1 Timothy 2:9 says “… Women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire.” You can’t wear skimpy clothing, or lots of jewelry, and hope to get respect. If you are dressing immodestly, you will most likely not be respected. Are you worried about not being attractive because you are dressing modestly? The right kind of person will be interested in you because of what is on the inside. If you want the right kind of person to find you, you must dress modestly. This applies to both men and woman. 

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 tells us “… Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”  How would you feel if God came today, and you had tattoos, or you were wearing earrings and necklaces, or yoga pants, or loud clothing? I know that I would feel ashamed. In Leviticus 19:28 it says “You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves...” 

People have asked me why I wear a dress shirt and pants everywhere I go, (as if it is not cool or it's out of style) I do not desire to be “cool,” and I thank God that I don’t. Someday I will have a wife, and I will not be attracted to her because she dresses skimpy, or because she has jewelry, or because she has a new perm. It will be because she desires to please God by respecting herself. I pray that God can help you and I both, to remember to focus on what is truly important, taking care of ourselves to please God.

Temptations of the World

Hello friend,

If you were to ask me what one of my deepest concerns for this world is, I would say that it is the temptations that we give into on a daily basis. As humans we have flesh, and that flesh is what influences us to give into the temptations that we are faced with all too often. Mark 14:38 says “Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” There is a lot of confusion in the Christian church today, many claim that we can give into these sins and still go to heaven. But what do the scriptures say?  1 Corinthians 6:9-10 says “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. But is it wrong to hang out with these kinds of people? Well, James 4:4 clearly says “Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God." These verses make it so clear, yet people somehow still seem confused. The Bible states that if we trust in Christ that we are saved. Does this mean that we can still commit these sins and go to heaven? If we are caught up in any of these sins, then we won’t go to heaven. Being caught up in a sin shows that you have not truly retained the word of God. If you sin on occasion, don’t be worried, you will still go to heaven, but that doesn’t mean that we should do it just for this reason.

You have to admit, God has a lot of patience with us, and we should be grateful for that. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” Whenever you get temped with something, pray about it, and turn away from it. Yes, the flesh will always attempt to hold us back, and sometimes it will have the upper hand, but as long as we fight it and strive to be better, then we can’t go wrong.
